RAMLOAD.DOC__________________Doc file July 4,1985 RAMLOAD.XL is the DOSXL version RAMLOAD.25 is the Dos 2.5 VersionRAMLOAD.xx is an object file which when run will: 1. Set cursor speed at a faster than normal rate. 2. Set up proper reset vectors. 3. Read the text file "D1:AUTORUN.EXC" and will copy the files named there from any or all active floppy disks to ram-disk. 4. Echo ( to the screen) all filenames as they're being copied 5. Report any 'Can't Open' error to you. 6. If your Ram-disk runs out of room while copying a file, RAMLOAD will report a "Write error" and the filename. 7. Exit to DOS after all named files are copied, or after an error. To use the DOS 2.5 version of this program: 1. Download RAMLOAD.25 and rename it AUTORUN.SYS 2. Use Atariwriter or any non-line number oriented word processor to create D1:AUTORUN.EXC which is simply a list of file names to copy to Ram-disk e.g.D1:TEXT.COM 3. RAMLOAD will normalize the filename by converting then to upper case, and adding the proper prefix if not present. a. if the D# prefix is missing RAMLOAD will normalize it as D1: b. legal filenames are: TEXT text 1:TEXT 2:text D1:TEXT d2:text 4. .ext is not added if not present so be sure to include it if needed. 5. Each file name must end with a carriage return........ only one name per line. 6. no blank lines should appear in the .EXC file as RAMLOAD will attempt to copy a blank filename causing an error exit. 7. no quote marks should be used !!!!To use the DOSXL version: 1. Download the RAMLOAD.XL version and set up a STARTUP.EXC file naming RAMDSK.XL ( found in ATARI SIG ) and RAMLOAD.XL. 2. Create a text file called AUTORUN.EXC as outlined above. Please report any errors to me on this SIGDavid Everard 75036,3320ooooooooooooooooo
